Avery Jackson
Los Angeles-based fashion designer
Avery Jackson was born in Baltimore, and grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland. He studied the arts at Loyola College in Baltimore and earned his MBA from the University of Rochester, New York. While working in advertising, he studied and performed theater in the Metropolitan (Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia) area before moving to Los Angeles, where he landed roles in various acclaimed independent films and stage productions.
Alongside his acting career, Avery pursued his true passion – fashion design. He found a mentor in prominent LA designer Faith Rudder, and honed his art designing for his theater colleagues.
“My collection is retro-inspired. I’ve always appreciated the charm, elegance and sophistication of design from the 40s, 50s and other past eras. The fashions of those eras represent a civility and courtesy that I think we are now missing. My hope is to restore this by creating collections of evening wear and separates for women.”
Avery debuted House of Gillian Marie Couturier in August 2016.
